Brand Economy Setup Guide

This guide walks you through creating a complete economy for your brand using the Perk Effects System. By the end, your community will have earning multipliers, streak protection, weekly raffles, and cosmetic badges — all configured through the Partner Portal with no code required.

Prerequisites

  • A registered brand in the Resonance Partner Portal
  • At least one Discord server linked to your brand
  • RSNC in your brand wallet (for the perks marketplace listing)

Step 1: Plan Your Economy

Before creating perks, decide on your product lineup. Here's a recommended starter set:

ProductEffect TypeSuggested PriceDuration
AmplifierEarning Multiplier (1.5x)500 RSNC7 days
Amplifier+Earning Multiplier (2.25x)1,000 RSNC7 days
ShieldStreak Shield (1 charge)250 RSNC7 days
Shield PackStreak Shield (3 charges)500 RSNC7 days
Raffle EntryRaffle Entry (1 entry)100 RSNCInstant
Entry PackRaffle Entry (5 entries)400 RSNCInstant
Starter BadgeBadge (standard)250 RSNCPermanent

Step 2: Create Your First Perk

  1. Log in to the Partner Portal
  2. Navigate to your brand dashboard
  3. Click Create Perk to open the PerkWizard

Basic Info

  • Name: Your product name (e.g., "Amplifier")
  • Description: What the user gets (e.g., "1.5x earning multiplier for 7 days")
  • Category: Select "consumable" or "cosmetic"
  • Price: Set in RSNC (e.g., 500)

Perk Effects

  1. Scroll to the Perk Effects section
  2. Check Earning Multiplier
  3. Set the multiplier value (e.g., 1.5)
  4. Duration defaults to 7 days

Scope

  1. For most brands, leave scope as Own Brand (effects apply only in your servers)
  2. If you have partnership agreements, select Selected Partners and enter partner brand IDs

Supply & Limits

  1. Max Supply: Leave unlimited for consumables, or set a limit for exclusive items
  2. Max Per User: Set to 1 for multipliers (prevents stacking confusion)

Review & Publish

  1. Review all settings
  2. Click Create to publish to the marketplace

Step 3: Set Up a Weekly Raffle

Create three raffle perks at different price points:

  1. Entry (1 entry, 100 RSNC)
  2. Entry Pack (5 entries, 400 RSNC)
  3. Entry Bundle (15 entries, 1,000 RSNC)

For each, enable the Raffle Entry effect and set the entry count.

The raffle system automatically:

  • Pools entries by ISO week
  • Enforces a 15-entry-per-user weekly cap
  • Supports multiple prize types (RSNC pot, exclusive perks, bundles)

Configure your prize rotation in the raffle settings (Partner Portal > Raffle Config).

Step 4: Accept Partner Effects (Optional)

If another brand (e.g., Resonance) wants their perks to work in your servers:

  1. Go to Settings > Brand Consent
  2. Click Add Consent
  3. Enter the partner brand ID
  4. Select which effect types to accept (e.g., earning multiplier, badge)
  5. Set a max multiplier cap (recommended: 3.0x) for safety
  6. Save

This means a user with a Resonance Amplifier can earn boosted RSNC in your server — increasing engagement and activity.

Step 5: Monitor Your Economy

Track these metrics in your Partner Portal dashboard:

  • Perk claims per week — Is spending growing?
  • Burn-to-distribution ratio — What % of distributed RSNC is being spent?
  • Repurchase rate — Are users buying weekly?
  • Shield usage — Are streaks valuable enough to protect?
  • Raffle participation — Entries per week, rollover frequency

Economy Design Tips

  1. Price ascending: Higher tiers should always cost more. Bulk value comes from multiplicative stacking, not cheaper prices.

  2. Effort breakeven: At your highest tier, users should break even at ~75% effort. This self-selects committed users.

  3. Multi-effect perks: A single perk can have multiple effects. Consider a "Premium Bundle" perk with both Amplifier + Shield.

  4. Limited editions: Create time-limited badges with max supply to drive urgency.

  5. Cross-brand partnerships: Accept effects from ecosystem partners to increase user engagement in your server.

Troubleshooting

Effect not activating after claim?

  • Effects activate immediately on claim. Check that the perk has effects configured in metadata.
  • The activation is non-fatal — if the post-claim hook fails, the user still has the NFT. Contact support to retro-activate.

Cross-brand effects not working?

  • Both sides must be configured: the perk must have brand_list scope including your brand, AND you must have granted consent to the source brand.
  • Check Settings > Brand Consent for active consent records.

Multiplier seems too high/low?

  • Combined role + perk multipliers are capped at 10x.
  • Cross-brand consent has its own max_multiplier cap.
  • Check the user's active effects with the /balance command (shows active boosts).
