Earning in Resonance Official
This guide is for community members of the Resonance Official Discord โ people who want to understand how earning works, what changed in the recent rebalance, and how to get the most out of their participation. It's written in plain English and assumes no integrator or developer knowledge.
If you run a brand and want to design your own program, read the Brand Programs guide instead.
How earning worksโ
Every time you do something in Discord that the bot recognizes โ post a substantive message, react to other people's content, share a link, host a stage, reply to a newcomer โ you trigger an event. If the event passes the gate (anti-spam, anti-farm, quality checks), you earn RSNC. The bot tracks how often each event has fired for you in a given period (day or week) and stops paying out once you hit the cap.
Run /cooldowns at any time to see the full list of events you're currently eligible for, how many claims of each you've already used, and how soon the next one is available. (Phase 2 rebuilt this command as a Quest Hub โ see below.)
There are two kinds of events you can earn from:
- Core events. These are available at every Tune-In level, and there are four of them in Resonance Official:
quality(substantive messages),gm_checkin(the daily greeting ritual),reaction_threshold(your message gets enough reactors), andsocial_link(sharing relevant links). The reward and cap on these grow as your Tune-In level climbs. - Unlock events. These become claimable once you cross a specific Tune-In threshold. Different unlocks at L0, L10, L20, all the way to L90. They're additive โ when you unlock
stage_hostat L10, you keep earning from all the lower events too.
The simple version: earn โ spend on Tune-In โ unlock new ways to earn โ repeat. Each Tune-In claim costs RSNC and gives you two things: a per-claim multiplier on your existing RSNC payouts, plus access to the next unlock event in the ladder.
What's new in Phase 2 (May 2026)โ
Phase 1 (April 2026) shipped the Tune-In ladder and the 10 unlock events. Phase 2 + 2.5 (May 2026) added three new mechanics on top:
Activity Scoreโ
Beyond the per-event RSNC payout, every qualifying action you take also contributes to your Activity Score โ a per-event-family running total of how productively you've been earning during the current week. Think of it as a velocity stat: not just "did you fire this event", but "how consistently are you contributing across the whole event family it belongs to".
- Tracked per event family (e.g. all the quality-flavored events roll up into one score; all the unlock events roll up into another).
- Rolls over 25% week-to-week. A slow week doesn't reset you to zero โ you keep a quarter of last week's score as a head start.
- Feeds the universal reward formula (see below) โ higher Activity Score = bigger base payout per claim, on top of your Tune-In tier.
Weekly Bountyโ
Every Monday at 00:00 UTC, the brand pays out a Weekly Bounty from a per-brand bounty pool to the top contributors of the previous week. The split is computed from your Activity Score relative to other members. This is on top of normal per-claim earnings โ it's a "showed up consistently" reward designed to make a sustained week of participation pay better than a one-day burst.
The bounty payout is excluded from the +6% Signal subscription multiplier (anti-farm โ see Signal subscription benefits below).
Universal Reward Formula (Phase 2.5, live for Resonance Official)โ
The legacy way to compute a reward was: monitoring_rules.reward_amount ร tune multiplier ร server multiplier ร role multiplier ร streak. Five separately-tuned numbers stacking onto a per-event constant.
The Phase 2.5 formula folds the first two into a single base derived from your level and your Activity Score:
base = legacyReward ร (1 + level / EVENT_DIVISOR) ร (1 + min(AS/500, 0.5)) ร localMultiplier
In plain English: higher Tune-In level โ bigger base. Higher Activity Score โ bigger base, capped at +50%. Per-event local-multiplier still tunable for special events. Then the rest of the stack (role multiplier, streak, server multiplier, Signal subscription) applies on top of the new base, the same way it did before.
For Resonance Official specifically, this is active as of 2026-05-07. Other brands roll over as their operators flip the formula opt-in.
Charge Pack + Amplifier (redesigned)โ
Both perks were re-tuned in Phase 2 so charges no longer get wasted on capped events. The mechanic is the same โ they boost the per-claim RSNC on your active events for a duration โ but the math no longer leaks unused charges. If you owned one of these pre-Phase 2, your existing balance carries over with the new economics.
Quest Hub /cooldownsโ
The /cooldowns command was rebuilt to surface what's coming next, not just what's gated now:
- Active events with tier badges (unchanged from Phase 1)
- Unlocked events you've crossed the threshold for
- Upcoming unlocks with how many Tune-In levels until each
- Weekly Bounty status โ how much is in the pool, your share so far this week
- Active boosts (Charge Pack, Amplifier, Gear Set, Signal subscription multiplier) listed with their effective values
Signal Subscription multiplier (paid tier)โ
Paid Signal subscribers get a per-claim boost stack:
- +6% on rewards (excludes weekly bounty)
- +10% Salvage drop rate
- +3 weekly Salvage cap
- 20% off Dissolver / Transmute fees
- Forge access at the discounted rate (when Forge ships May 21)
The +6% applies after the universal-formula base is computed and stacks with role/streak/server multipliers.
Tune-In: what it gives youโ
Tune-In is the meta-progression that runs across the whole platform. When you spend RSNC on a Tune-In claim, you advance one level. As you climb:
Per-claim RSNC boostโ
Every Tune-In level grows your per-claim payout. The mechanic depends on which formula your brand is on:
- Phase 1 brands (legacy formula): every Tune-In level adds to a
genMultiplierapplied to your future payouts. Bumped 20% in the Phase 1 rebalance โ at L37 the multiplier is around +44%; at L90 it's substantially higher. - Phase 2.5 brands (universal formula โ Resonance Official since 2026-05-07): Tune-In level is folded into the base calculation directly via
base ร (1 + level/EVENT_DIVISOR), alongside your Activity Score. See the universal-formula explainer above for the full shape. Net effect is similar (higher level โ bigger base), but the math is more legible and stacks cleanly with Activity Score velocity.
Either way, this is the multiplier that used to be called the "charge boost" โ but in the rebalance it was reshaped. It used to inflate a cap that nobody was hitting anyway. Now it actively grows your per-event reward on every claim.
Unlock events (the L0 โ L90 ladder)โ
Every 10 Tune-In levels, a new event type unlocks. Plain-English summary of all ten:
- L0 โ
thread_starter. You start a thread; if at least 2 distinct people post in it within 24h, you earn 30 RSNC (up to 2/day). - L10 โ
stage_host. You host a Stage with at least 3 distinct attendees who actually join. 120 RSNC, once a week. - L20 โ
deep_reply. You reply to a message that already has at least 3 different people reacting to it. 24 RSNC, up to 5/day. - L30 โ
conversation_starter. Your message gets replies from at least 3 distinct users within an hour. 40 RSNC, up to 3/day. - L40 โ
voice_sustained. You stay in one voice channel for at least 60 continuous minutes (channel-hopping resets the timer). 48 RSNC, up to 3/week. - L50 โ
mentor_reach. You reply to a new member (joined the server in the last 7 days, fewer than 5 messages so far) within 24h of their post. 36 RSNC, up to 3/day. - L60 โ
traffic_director. Across a 24-hour window, at least 5 distinct users@mentionyou. 80 RSNC, once a week. - L70 โ
resonance_beacon. You post a link in a message that passes the quality gate, and at least 3 distinct people react to it. 60 RSNC, up to 3/week. - L80 โ
answered_question. You reply to someone's question, and either the asker reacts โ /๐/โค๏ธ/๐ฏ/๐ to your answer, or your reply collects 3+ reactions within 24h. 90 RSNC, up to 2/day. - L90 โ
dawn_patrol. You post the first message in a channel after at least 8 hours of silence, and that message passes the quality gate. 72 RSNC, once a day server-wide.
Each unlock keeps adding to what you can earn โ by L60 you have all of L0 through L60's events claimable simultaneously.
What Tune-In no longer doesโ
Two things you might remember Tune-In doing that it doesn't anymore:
- Cap multiplier on
quality. It used to pump your weekly cap on thequalityevent up to 700+ at high tune levels, but that cap was effectively unreachable anyway because the gate didn't produce that many qualifying messages. The Phase 1 rebalance dropped the cap-multiplier and replaced it with a tiered ladder where each tune-tier gives a real, tighter cap (50/wk at L0, 120/wk at L90). The ceiling is lower in absolute terms but binding โ and now reachable with sustained quality engagement. - Vanity boost numbers. The "+147% charge boost" line that used to show up in
/cooldownsfor high-tune members is gone unless you have an active Gear Set or Charge Pack perk that grants it. Those perks still work; only the Tune-In source of the multiplier was removed.
What makes a message qualifyโ
The quality event has the most movable parts of any event in the program. Here's what passes and what doesn't.
Anchor to contextโ
Every message is checked for an anchor โ some signal that connects it to ongoing activity in the room. Any one of these counts:
- It's a reply to another message
- It contains an
@mentionof another user - It mentions a channel by
<#channel> - It contains a link to
*.rsnc.network(other URLs are a weak anchor โ they help, but don't satisfy on their own) - It shares at least one content-word with the channel's recent vocabulary (the bot tracks the rolling top-20 words per channel)
If your message has zero of these, it gets a 30-point penalty on its quality score. That's enough to push almost any message under the threshold at strictness 7 (which is what Resonance Official runs at).
This is the single biggest reason a message doesn't earn. Drive-by posts that don't reference the room don't pay.
Quality gate brief overviewโ
Beyond the anchor check, each message is scored on five signals:
- How well-formed it is (length, vocabulary, capitalization)
- How much "slop" it contains (low-effort phrases, excess emoji)
- How similar it is to your own recent messages
- How similar it is to other people's recent messages in the same server
- Whether your overall posting pattern looks human (cadence, channel diversity, reciprocity with other members)
These are weighted into a composite score. If any single signal is much lower than the others, that weakest signal drags the composite hard โ so a message that's well-formed but lazily copies the chain ahead of it still gets caught.
The composite must beat a threshold (82 at Resonance Official's strictness 7). After the H1 anchor penalty, the H3 chain-similarity penalty, and the H4 dead-channel penalty, the message either passes or it doesn't.
What NOT to doโ
- Don't post drive-by "essence" reflections in quiet channels. Long, vocabulary-rich messages with no anchor are exactly what the H1 penalty was designed to catch. Same message in an active conversation about the topic = passes; same message in a silent
#generalat 3am = fails. - Don't farm reactions. Coordinating 5 friends to react simultaneously gives you 1 effective reactor (burst-window collapse). Reactors with low credibility don't count at all.
- Don't promo-spam. Telegram bot links, ALL-CAPS lines, "AIRDROP/PUMP/FREE" SHOUTED words, short-link aggregators (
bit.ly-class) all trip the promo-pattern cap. The score is pinned below threshold regardless of other signals. - Don't reply-chain agreement. "I agree", "Same!", "๐ฏ this" reply chains get the H3 chain-similarity penalty. The shorter and more similar to the chain, the bigger the hit.
- Don't ride a junk parent. If you reply to a message that failed the quality gate, your composite is capped at the parent's. You can't farm replies to slop.
What TO doโ
- Reply to people, especially newcomers and people asking questions.
- Stay on topic โ even one content-word in common with the channel's rolling vocabulary satisfies the H1 anchor.
- Be substantive. If you have something to say, say it in a few sentences with actual content. The minimum word count at strictness 7 is 16, but messages much longer than the floor pass more reliably.
- Use voice.
voice_sustained(L40) is one of the highest RSNC-per-hour activities in the program. - Host stuff. Threads (L0), stages (L10), and conversations (L30) all have unlock events that reward you for facilitating community, not just participating.
Reading /cooldownsโ
The /cooldowns display was redesigned in Phase 1 to surface the new ladder structure. Here's what each part means.
Headerโ
โฑ๏ธ Events for Tune-In Level 37 @YourName
Weekly reset: in 2 days (Monday, April 20, 2026 9:00 AM)
Daily reset: in 39 minutes
Your current tune level is shown right at the top. Reset times tell you when daily-cap and weekly-cap counters roll over.
Active events (with tier badges)โ

6/7 charges/day ยท 26 RSNC ยท 10m cooldown
๐ฏ social_link (Tier 4) โ โ
12/17 charges/week ยท 55 RSNC ยท 6h cooldown
The (Tier N) badge is new. It tells you which supersession tier you're earning at on that event. Tier 4 means you've crossed the L40 tune threshold for that event, and you're earning at the L40 rate (35 RSNC per quality claim, 82/week cap). When you hit L50 the badge will read (Tier 5) and the values will jump.
The โ
marker means the event is currently claimable. A timestamp like 2h 59m means it's on cooldown for that long before your next claim.

Below the core events, this section lists every unlock event you've crossed the tune-level threshold for. At Tune-In L37 (the example), you've unlocked everything through mentor_reach at L50 โ wait, that's L50, you'd be at L40 unlocks at L37. Let me re-check: at L37 you have L0 through L30 unlocked (thread_starter, stage_host, deep_reply, conversation_starter). The example output above is from a slightly higher tune level showing through L50.
The format is the same as core events: how many claims used out of the cap, and the RSNC per claim.
Upcoming unlocksโ
๐ Upcoming Unlocks
traffic_director โ unlocks at Tune-In Level 60 (+23 levels to go)
resonance_beacon โ unlocks at Tune-In Level 70
answered_question โ unlocks at Tune-In Level 80
dawn_patrol โ unlocks at Tune-In Level 90
Below the unlocked section, you'll see all the events you can't claim yet โ but that you'll get as you climb. The next one shows how many tune levels you have to go. This is intentional motivation: the ladder is visible at all times.
Charge boost line (when applicable)โ
If you have a Gear Set bonus or a Charge Pack perk active, you'll see a line like:
โก Charge boost active: +15% (Gear Set) โ caps below reflect the boost
If no perk-sourced charge boosts are active, this line is omitted. (Tune-In itself no longer writes charge boosts.)
Common questionsโ
Why did this message not earn?โ
It almost certainly failed the quality gate. The most common reason is the H1 anchor penalty โ your message didn't reply to anyone, didn't mention anyone or anything, didn't include an *.rsnc.network link, and didn't share a content-word with the channel's recent topic. That's 30 points off your composite, which usually drops it under threshold.
Other common reasons:
- The message was too similar to recent messages in the channel (H3 chain penalty).
- The channel was idle for 30+ minutes in a 100+ member server (H4 dead-channel penalty).
- Promo patterns triggered the X6 cap.
- The message was too short to clear the per-strictness
min_wordsfloor.
Why did my friend's reaction not count toward my Popular Content?โ
Three filters apply to reactors before the reaction_threshold event fires:
- Credibility floor. Reactors with
credScore < 40don't count. Brand-new accounts and accounts that haven't earned recently are below the floor. - Burst window. Reactions arriving within 30 seconds of the first reaction on your message all collectively count as one reactor. So if your friend reacts a moment after the first reaction lands, they effectively count as the same one.
- Threshold raised to 5. You need 5 distinct credible reactors (after the burst-window filter), not 3 like before.
Pile-on coordination doesn't work. Spread-out, organic reactions from credible accounts do.
Why did my cap shrink?โ
If you were previously at a high Tune-In level under the old economy, your quality weekly cap was something like 700 โ but that was a vanity cap because the old gate didn't actually produce that many qualifying messages per week. The Phase 1 rebalance replaced the vanity cap with a real, binding cap that scales by tier (50/wk at L0 to 120/wk at L90).
The number is smaller, but it's a real cap that you can actually hit with sustained quality posting. And the per-claim RSNC at high tiers is much higher than before โ at L90, you can earn 9,000 RSNC/week from quality alone, plus all the unlock events stacking on top.
What's the fastest way to earn?โ
Sustained, anchored participation across multiple events. Concrete patterns:
- Reply to active threads. A thoughtful reply that anchors (it's a reply by definition) can fire
quality+deep_reply(if the parent has 3+ reactors) +mentor_reach(if the parent author is a new member) +answered_question(if the parent contained a question and you're at L80+) โ up to four events from one well-placed message. - Host stages and threads.
stage_host(120 RSNC at L10),thread_starter(30 RSNC at L0), andconversation_starter(40 RSNC at L30) reward you for facilitating community. - Use voice. 60 sustained minutes for 48 RSNC, up to 3ร/week, makes voice one of the best RSNC-per-hour activities.
- Answer questions. At L80,
answered_questionis 90 RSNC and you can claim it twice a day. Combine with thequalitypayout on the same answer.
What does NOT pay anymore: posting "the essence" reflections in quiet channels, reply-chains of agreement, coordinated reaction farming, link-spam.
What is Activity Score and how do I see mine?โ
Activity Score is a per-event-family running total of how productively you've been earning during the current week. You can see your current score and your rank against other members in /cooldowns (Quest Hub) under the Activity Score section, plus your week-over-week movement. It feeds the universal reward formula directly โ every qualifying claim grows your score, which grows your next claim's base. It rolls over 25% week-to-week, so a slow week doesn't hard-reset you.
How does the Weekly Bounty work?โ
Every Monday at 00:00 UTC, the brand pays out a Weekly Bounty from a per-brand pool. Your share is computed from your Activity Score relative to other members. Show up consistently across the week (not just one big day) and your bounty share grows. The bounty payout itself does NOT get the +6% Signal subscription multiplier โ that's intentional anti-farm so you can't subscribe-and-cancel to milk the weekly cron.
Is it OK to ask for likes/reactions?โ
Asking is fine. Asking systematically โ DM'ing 5 friends to react to every post โ gets caught by the burst-window collapse and credibility filter. If your reactors all land within 30 seconds, they collectively count as 1. If your reactors have low credScore (because they haven't been earning), they don't count at all.
Organic asks in conversation ("anyone else seeing this?") are fine. Coordinated pile-ons get filtered to 1 effective reactor regardless of how many people you coordinate.
